Innovation is not about saying yes to everything. It's about saying NO to all but the most crucial features.
Steve Job, co-founder, chairman, and CEO of Apple Inc.
The Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering offers a 4-year bachelor degree on ‘Bachelor of Science in Electrical & Electronic Engineering’. To become a graduate in this field one has to complete 160 credit hours.
Scientists have invented many theories for the benefit of mankind and engineers have applied those theories for the service of human beings. Electrical & Electronic Engineering has developed as a consequence of this activity. Presently EEE is the root of all programs like electronics and communication engineering, computer science and engineering and information technology.
Entry Requirements
Minimum 2nd division or GPA 2.5 in both SSC and HSC or equivalent examination (Science background with Physics and Mathematics) or 'O' Level in five subjects and 'A' Level in two subjects with minimum 'C' grade in each or US high school diploma.
Diploma engineering certificate in relevant technology (electrical/ electronics/computer science/power is required for the evening program.
Vision
The program is designed to satisfy the growing demand of Electrical and Electronic Engineers throughout the country. It gives students the opportunity to obtain the knowledge of electrical power, its generation, transmission and distribution, electronics and all kinds of its application and also a freedom to tailor the program according to student’s individual need by choosing the optional subjects available to specialize in power, electronics, communication or computer in higher semesters.
Moreover, there are sufficient numbers of mathematics, general education, interdisciplinary courses, mechanical engineering, industrial production engineering and other basic sciences, commerce, arts and humanities courses. These courses help to build the students as balanced professionals.

Career Scope
One of the basic needs of life is electricity which is generated, transmitted and distributed by electrical and electronic engineers. The necessity of electrical engineers is related with the basic requirements of life.
The development of a country sometimes is measured with the amount of use of electricity. Bangladesh Power Development Board, Dhaka Electric Supply Authority, DESCO are the organizations who are looking for electrical engineers. BTCL. BTV, mobile operators and other private TV channels are also looking for the same.
Electrical Engineers can specialize as telecom engineers, IT professionals, computer engineers, programmers etc. at an ease. The demand of electrical engineers begins at the dawn of civilization and continues as long as universe survives. The electronics industry is also developing in the country at a rapid pace.
The electronic engineers can meet the demand of electronics industry. Bangladesh being an Asian country can follow the foot steps of China, Malaysia, Taiwan, Korea and can become a supplier of electronic products with the contribution from electronic engineers. Electrical and electronic engineers are also demanded abroad very much
