Living in a world that is considered to be globalized and highly dynamic where technological advancements made the world seem smaller, making everything within our reach. Geographical borders no longer confine our existence opening the door to several cultures & theologies making English literature much richer and broader. The Masters program for English at NUB aims to improve writing skills, sharpen analytical abilities, and broaden literary knowledge. The program that is provided by Northern University Bangladesh focuses on the areas of American Literature, Continental Literature, and Communal Literature & Critical Theory.
The Department of English offers a postgraduate degree (1 Year and 2 Year) titled ‘Master of Arts in English Language (MAEL)’ . To become a graduate in this field one has to complete 36/72 credits.
The Master of Arts in English Language provides an opportunity for students to gain detailed understanding of the English Language and linguistics, leading to a specialization in English Language Teaching (ELT). It is intended as both preparation for further graduate training and as a terminal degree.
