MAE is a degree that typically studies the English Language with the relevance based on history, geography, communication, or other of the humanities, philosophy, social sciences, fine arts & it studies or theology. The MAE program provides comprehensive, intensive, and flexible coursework in the advanced study of British and American language for various professional and personal applications. For students who are seeking a masters-level foundation in English & other related fields for instance teaching the English Language at the secondary level or business professionals research, writing, critical thinking and a broader knowledge in the humanities are required. In the Masters programs, students are allowed a much more extensive and in-depth study of the English Linguistics & English Sociolinguistics.

The Department of English offers a 1 and 2 years postgraduate degree on ‘Master of Arts in English (MAE)’. To become a graduate in this field one has to complete 38/74 credits.
The Master of Arts in English provides an opportunity for students to extend and enhance their knowledge of literature studies and skills in textual analysis as part of professional advancement or to pursue an interest in the subject. This program provides advanced study in literary texts, periods, and backgrounds, and in literary and composition theories. It offers theoretical and practical instruction in the teaching of composition and of English as a second language. Its aim is to provide a solid foundation upon which the student can build in areas of special interest. It is intended as both preparation for further graduate training and as a terminal degree.
